These Terms of Use govern access to and use of StageLine Perio, provided by DDS Algorithmics.

By using StageLine Perio, you agree to these Terms of Use.

Intended users

StageLine Perio is intended for use by dental professionals as a clinical decision-support tool.

It is designed to assist with periodontal classification, progression assessment, treatment considerations, CDT options, clinical documentation, and patient communication.

​

Clinical responsibility

StageLine Perio is intended to support, not replace, professional judgment.

All clinical findings, diagnoses, treatment decisions, referrals, documentation, and coding remain the responsibility of the treating clinician.

Users are responsible for reviewing and confirming all StageLine Perio outputs before relying on, copying, communicating, or placing them into a patient record.

Clinical framework

StageLine Perio applies structured rules based on the 2017 World Workshop periodontal classification framework together with documented StageLine Perio clinical rules.

The application does not guarantee that every clinical situation can be fully represented or that every output will be appropriate for every patient.

No patient-identifying information

StageLine Perio is designed for de-identified use.

Do not enter patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, addresses, or other information that could identify a patient.

Do not enter protected health information or other patient-identifying information into StageLine Perio.

​

Documentation and charting

StageLine Perio may generate suggested clinical documentation and chart-note language.

These outputs must be reviewed and approved by the clinician before use.

StageLine Perio does not independently enter information into a patient's clinical record.

CDT and treatment information

StageLine Perio may display CDT options and treatment considerations based on information entered by the user.

These are provided for clinical decision support only and do not constitute a guarantee of insurance coverage, reimbursement, payment, or treatment appropriateness.

Users are responsible for confirming current coding requirements, payer policies, and individual patient circumstances.

 

Patient-facing information

StageLine Perio may generate plain-language information intended to help clinicians explain periodontal findings and treatment considerations to patients.

This information is educational and does not replace direct clinician-patient communication, informed consent, or individualized professional advice.

Accuracy and availability

DDS Algorithmics strives to make StageLine Perio clinically useful and reliable, but does not guarantee that the application will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or suitable for every clinical situation.

Users should not rely on StageLine Perio as the sole basis for any clinical decision.

Usage information

DDS Algorithmics may collect limited account, technical, and usage information relating to access and use of StageLine Perio.

The types of information collected and how they are used are described in the StageLine Perio Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

StageLine Perio, including its software, interface, written content, documentation, presentation, and proprietary implementation, is owned by DDS Algorithmics or used under applicable rights.

Use of StageLine Perio does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property.

Users may use StageLine Perio outputs in the ordinary course of providing dental care but may not copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, distribute, resell, or create competing products from the StageLine Perio software or proprietary content except as permitted by law or with written authorization from DDS Algorithmics.

Acceptable use

Users may not:

• attempt to interfere with the operation or security of StageLine Perio;

• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the application or related systems;

• use automated methods to extract or systematically copy StageLine Perio content;

• use StageLine Perio in a manner that violates applicable law; or

• knowingly enter patient-identifying information contrary to these Terms.

Third-party services

StageLine Perio may rely on third-party infrastructure or services, including Cloudflare.

DDS Algorithmics is not responsible for interruptions or failures caused by third-party services outside its reasonable control.

Changes to StageLine Perio or these Terms

DDS Algorithmics may update StageLine Perio and these Terms as the application evolves.

The current Terms of Use will be posted with the applicable update date.

Continued use of StageLine Perio after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Disclaimer

StageLine Perio is provided as a clinical decision-support tool and is not a substitute for independent professional judgment.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, DDS Algorithmics disclaims warranties regarding uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or suitability for a particular clinical or business purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, DDS Algorithmics will not be liable for clinical decisions, treatment outcomes, coding or reimbursement decisions, documentation errors, or other consequences arising from reliance on StageLine Perio without independent clinician review.
